It's odd where initial ideas for stories come from. I've been asked where did a get the idea for the Projection Room. Truth is, it came from several places. However, the launching off point came from a quote by Wassily Kandinsky, the famed Abstract Expressionist.

I'm paraphrasing here, but he said something to the extend that art bridges the gap between the material and spiritual worlds. That got me thinking--what if he was right. What if some art at least does exactly that? And what if there was some means or technology that could activate that bridge?

I was reading this quote while doing a long-term substitute teaching gig for a fellow art teacher that was recovering from hip surgery. Also during that gig, I had one student that was a total pain in the arse. I determined that if I ever wrote a story or book with the above premise, he'd definitely get killed off in it (it felt cathartic and therapeutic.) The rest is history. Enjoy the video.
